The board president of the Hecktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps has recently announced that the institution will be shutting down after 51 years of service to the community.
A state mandate requiring two paid emergency medical technicians at the station 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and a drop in billable calls have led to the shutdown effective March 15.
