SNAP Benefit Cuts Foil Chances for Progress


The 2009 Recovery Act's temporary boost to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has expired, resulting in benefit cuts for many program participants, especially children and families who need them the most.

A CUA Tower commentary observes that SNAP cuts is bad public policy because it would immensely reduce funding for essential social welfare programs in times of need, thus undermining the nation’s ability for progress and greatness.
