Problem-Solving Education May Curtail Parental Stress Post-ASD Diagnosis

According to a study led by Emily Feinberg, CPNP, Sc.D., of Boston University School of Public Health, and colleagues, problem-solving education (PSE) may scale down parental stress and depressive symptoms immediately after their child is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Findings show that PSE mothers were less likely to report depressive symptoms than the other group who were tested. The study was funded by grant from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau.
