Seacoast Sees Escalating Rates of Homeless Students

Holiday season sees homelessness surge as winter housing costs rise. According to JoAnne Simons, director of pupil instruction and support for the Portsmouth school district, it's not surprising for the number of homeless students to increase as the holidays comes near.

Homeless students are a hidden population - being homeless and poor disrupts their lives as well as having parents control where their child attends school.
