The Walton Family Foundation Awards Grant

The Walton Family Foundation awarded a $49.5 million grant to the Teach for America program.

The program allows for recent college graduates to teach in some of the nation's most underserved schools for two years.

The organization will send 9,300 corps members to 43 refions across the country. For the next couple of years, half of the grant money will be used towards growing teaching corps to 15,000.

Co-founders William Mann and David Mravyan devised the Sensimat during a mandatory project for their MBA at the Richard Ivey School of Business in Canada. Sensimat is a device that helps manage and assess pressure among wheelchair users.
