Research Finds Competition Can Spur Homeless to Save More


A research paper entitled titled "Competition As a Savings Incentive: A Field Experiment at a Homeless Shelter" details at the saving behavior of the working homeless.

The authors of the study believe that incentives and competition can ignite saving interests among the employed homeless. The research paper appears in the November 2013 issue of the peer-reviewed Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization.
