Reading Program Needs Volunteers


The Start Making a Reader Today Program, organized by SMART, is seeking for volunteers to help them cater to more than 700 student participants in Klamath County.

The program reportedly needs 95 more volunteers in order to be able to read to approximately 1,000 children who are expected to participate this year.

The Bank of America Merrill Lynch themselves, Social Finance Inc., New York State, the Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO), the U.S. Department of Labor, Chesapeake Research Associates, and The Rockefeller Foundation come together to address recidivism by training and employing ex-inmates.
