Federal Student Financial Aid Source that Mostly Benefits the Rich


According to a report from The Reimagining Aid Design and Delivery (RADD) Consortium for Higher Education Tax Reform, students from the affluent families bag the most tax-based federal college financial aid.

While the government currently spends $173.9 billion on aid through Pell Grants, loans, and the tax code that cater to low-income students and their families, tax credits that support college tuition go mostly to the highest income families.
