Self-Worth Improves Ability to Cope with Poverty

A new study finds that people leading impoverished lives who remember good memories can enhance their ability to overcome their present situations.

According to University of British Columbia professor Jiaying Zhao and study co-author, simple acts of self-affirmation can boost the brain function and behavioral outcomes of people in poverty. The study will appear this month in Psychological Science.
