Social Enterprise Innovation Competition

A social enterprise innovation competition has recently been launched by the Nova Scotia Co-operative Council and Cape Bretoners are invited.

The competition is open to social enterprises who wish to participate doing business in Nova Scotia. The competition provides a chance for three organizations to win an award f a $2,000 equity investment combined with 40 hours of technical assistance, as well as a mentor.

    At-risk Youth Receives Support from Social Enterprises

    At-risk youth have been receiving financial and emotional support from a slew of social enterprises. The youth earn valuable life skills through mentorship, a key component in the social enterprise model. These social enterprises engage youth in training boot-camps and counselling, while receiving profits in return from their respective businesses.
