The arts and cultural organizations in the greater Capital Region and North Country have received nearly $6.5 million in economic-development funds.
These organizations also maintain the vital role the arts play in the economy. According to David Alan Miller, music director of the Albany Symphony Orchestra, the recent funding reflect "what we in the arts have been saying for years — that the arts are drivers of economic development."
