Cognitive Training Benefits Can Last Up To A Decade in Older Adults


In a study published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, older adults who had participated in cognitive training programs reported less difficulty with daily living tasks compared to those who had not participated, even after a decade had passed.

The study is called the Advanced Cognitive Training for Independent and Vital Elderly, or ACTIVE, and is the first to link cognitive training to benefits in activities in everyday living and not just to mental skills related to the exercises.
