The East and South County Economic Development Councils have been provided $40,000 by the US Economic Development Administration (EDA) to plan for the development of an aerotropolis at San Diego's Gillespie Field and Brown Field Municipal airports.
The funding award will reach its funding target of $200,000 after the councils have received $50,000 from the San Diego Foundation last year. The study will delineate plans for land use, infrastructure, planning and business development.
