Broad Public Health Interventions Can Effectively Address Childhood Obesity


University of Manchester public health researchers have found out that single dietary interventions are not effective at increasing fruit and vegetable consumption among overweight children.

Furthermore, such intervention approaches will not halt the global epidemic in childhood obesity. The Manchester Urban Collaboration of Health (MUCH) team, based at the University, enthuse that broader public health strategies are needed instead as obesity figures continue to rise.
