Better Access to Fruits and Veggies Fail to Curb Obesity Problem


In a surprising new research by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and Penn State University, US neighborhood grocery store initiative that improves access to healthy foods is insufficient to address the growing obesity problem.

The study, which is the first US-based evidence that building new food retail stores is not enough to improve the diets of low-income residents, is being published in the February issue of Health Affairs.
