Volunteer Search and Rescue Units Score New Helmets

The Ventura County Sheriff's Office's all-volunteer search and rescue teams have received new helmets as protection and unifying equipment.

The purchase of the new headgear is funded by Sheriff's Foundation, which raised funds for the search and rescue personnel's safety. The volunteers comprising the teams get their own special training in the areas of search management, emergency, and survival procedures among others.
