District-wide Volunteer Day to Help the Homeless


Nearly 300 students from 36 high schools in L.A. participated in a district-wide volunteer day at shelters.

The outreach event was run by Beyond the Bell, an after-school program of the Los Angeles Unified School District. Every year, students will tackle a social issue to focus on and rally for a day of service.

Pencils of Promise is a philanthropic organization that focuses on forming sustainable educational programs, and forging long-lasting, partnerships with communities. The organization aims to increase access to quality education and impact students and their families in high-need communities throughout Laos, Ghana and Guatemala.
