A Sea-Oat Volunteer Planting Campaign for Dune Restoration Effort

Jason Hyder, Surfrider Foundation Sebastian Inlet chapterís volunteer coordinator, led a sea-oat planting campaign in defense of the dunes.

Together with a crew of 14 Brownies from Longleaf, they dug holes to plant sea-oat shoots roughly 18 inches apart along eroded stretches of the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge and beachside Brevard County during a two-day Sow Yer Oats dune restoration effort.
