Health Effects of Childhood Obesity May Be Long-Lasting, New Study Finds


According to a University of Colorado Cancer Center evidence study, the health effects of childhood obesity may be long-lasting even in cases in which obese children lose weight later in life.

There were two significant findings: First, the earlier you are exposed to obesity, the earlier we may see the onset of complications including type II diabetes, cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome and cancer. Second, obesity is difficult to cure. The study is published in the journal Gerontology.
