Three bills were approved by the Hawaii Senate committee on economic development. The bills aim at making the Hawaii Community Development Authority to own up more public transparency and accountability.
Hawaii's Lawmakers are investigating the agency in light of public criticism of how it is managing developing Kakaako. The panel passed Senate Bills 2696, 2797, and 2698, all targeting economic development and public transparency.
