Hispanics to Benefit from ACA Coverage

In a RAND estimate, 5.4 million of Hispanics will have coverage by 2016 because of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

If states act to expand Medicaid, more uninsured Hispanics could gain coverage. Furthermore, access to coverage is likely if Hispanics take advantage of new state and federal insurance marketplaces. To date, 26 states have expanded Medicaid, including New York and California, places that have large Hispanic populations.
