According to a new state report from the Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism (DBEDT), Hawaii has seen a construction boom, which results in job creation and economic growth over the last year.
The DBEDT report also addresses the need for new housing. The report indicates that Hawaii's current housing need is about 5,500 new units per year. But during the last five years, it declined to only 3,400 per year.
