New Ten-State Demonstration Project to Rebuild Workforce Programs, Help Unemployed

The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) documents several recommendations to improve job-training programs administered by the federal government and better meet the needs of long-term unemployed Americans in its Getting Work: How Government Can Do Better Preparing Americans for Today's Jobs report.

BPC's Governors' Council recommends that Congress launch a"10/10" demonstration project that would enable up to ten states to take 10 percent fewer dollars than the state would have received in 2014 to design a workforce program that meets state needs.
