Results of a new study to be published in the May 2014 online-only issue of Alcoholism: Clinical & Experimental Research finds that those who binge drink, even in moderate consumption, show significantly increased total mortality risk compared to regular moderate drinkers among older adults.
Researchers note that the findings may pose special health concerns for these older adults, even though binge drinking is harmful at all age levels. The results are currently available at Early View.
