Experiences of Racism Linked with Weight Gain among African American Women

A study published online in the American Journal of Epidemiology reveals the connection between racism and weight gain was strongest among African-American women who reported consistently high experiences of racism over a 12-year period.

The Black Women's Health Study is a recent analysis led by investigators from the Slone Epidemiology Center at Boston University, and was supported by a grant from the Aetna Foundation.
