Senate Updates SSI 2014 to Help Low-income Older Adults

U.S. Senators Sherrod Brown (D-OH) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) have updated the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Restoration Act of 2014, which would mend key factors of the SSI that currently make life difficult for millions of the elderly poor.

The bill was championed by the National Senior Citizens Law Center (NSCLC), where Executive Director Kevin Prindiville pointed out, "Sadly, some poor seniors face homelessness when they lose even some of the already meager income SSI provides."
