Raya the Sanitation Muppet, first introduced at the Reinvent the Toilet Fair: India, is the latest addition to the beloved children's show, Sesame Street. She will appear as part of Sesame Street's
Cleaner, Healthier, Happier campaign in Bangladesh, India, and Nigeria.
Raya, part of Sesame Street's take on pressing social issues such as sanitation and toilet innovation, teaches kids handwashing, wearing sandals when visiting the latrine (in target countries, many latrines are shared—and not particularly sanitary), and simply using a latrine if one is available.
