Patrick Pitches $100M Economic Development Plan for Gateway Cities

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick has hatched a multi-year, $100 million economic development plan that he claims would improve investment in the state's gateway cities -- midsize urban areas that face social and economic challenges.

Economic development officials say the plan is a good idea; however, they need more funding. The plan aims to provide more funding for large-scale redevelopment projects, market-rate housing and historic manufacturing site cleanups.
