Land Trust Seeking Grant for Mowry House Repairs

The municipal Land Trust has applied for a $50,000 grant from the Champlin Foundations to pay for repairs of a colonial-era house on Old Forge Road willed to the town by late educator Mary Mowry.

Barbara Rich, chairwoman of the Land Trust said that Revive the Roots has asked the Land Trust for a five-year lease on the house, which it wants to renovate with $131,000 in donations and grants, turning it into a center offering programs focused on a wide variety of farm- and nature-oriented activities.
