The two largest Chambers of Commerce in Lake County, Lakeshore and Crossroads Regional (representing more than 1,200 businesses) has recently announced a new economic development alliance designed to assist the communities of East Chicago, Hammond, Crown Point, and Merrillville in business retention, attraction, and expansion efforts.

Helen Trevaskis was inspired during her trips to India. As she visited the poverty-stricken slums of Bangalore, Delhi, Agra and Bombay, Trevaskis chose to create Clean Hands Inc, a fledgling social enterprise to improve health in developing countries through improved hand hygiene.
