Social Enterprise That Helps Veterans Start Their Own Businesses Launches Newcastle Base


X-Forces, the social enterprise that aids former armed forces service members kick start their own small businesses, will be expanding its base to Newcastle's Westgate Road.

The social enterprise, which was launched last year by Lord Young, has already operated its first expert workshop for forces-leavers, veterans, reservists and their spouses. It's also UK's sole business support service intended for the military community.

Social Enterprise Is Re-Housing Unwanted Furniture

Weston Mill-based social enterprise Surplus Rescue CIC (Community Interest Company) recycles and finds homes for unwanted furniture. To date, it has received “extensive amounts” of quality second-hand furniture including desks, pedestals, cupboards and office chairs from a former local authority office equipment – and wants to find them a good home.
