Low Levels of Exercise and Heavy Use of Electronic Media Result to Increased Health Risks Among Children


A University of Eastern Finland study finds that low levels of physical activity and heavy use of electronic media are associated with increased risk factors for type 2 diabetes and vascular diseases in children.

The on-going lifestyle intervention study, carried out as the Physical Activity and Nutrition in Children Study, or the PANIC Study, was published in International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity, a journal that focuses on areas of exercise and nutrition.
