City Council Approves Tax Reductions for $45M Residential Health Care Facility

A City Council has approved a tax abatement for the construction of a new 39,000 square feet residential health care facility that's worth $45 million on tax rolls.

The tax reduction is part of an economic development incentive. According to Mount Pleasant Economic Development Corporation CEO Charlie Smith, "This policy supported the quality health care available in our community and contributed to quality of life in the community by enabling families to keep their family close and in the community they were most familiar with."
