The Emerson Engagement Lab is committed to boosting the participation of a city's residents through a lineup of original games designed for civic engagement.

It's latest game, Community PlanIt, covers a series of questions given to a user. Once a question or challenge is completed, the user is awarded with digital coins that can be used for local causes. The entire game consists of a slew of these "missions," and eventually produces real-world results.

Social Enterprise Is Re-Housing Unwanted Furniture

Weston Mill-based social enterprise Surplus Rescue CIC (Community Interest Company) recycles and finds homes for unwanted furniture. To date, it has received “extensive amounts” of quality second-hand furniture including desks, pedestals, cupboards and office chairs from a former local authority office equipment – and wants to find them a good home.
