At a Los Angeles hackathon, a high school team bagged the $3,000 top prize for their app that enables homeless shelters to address their needs so restaurants and volunteer groups can determine where to best commit their resources.
The "hackathon" was held at the L.A. City Hall, which focused on civic engagement discussions, and brought on innovations created by participants of all ages.
