Sufficient Sleep Can Protect Against Child Obesity


A new University of Illinois study reports that sleeping patterns in a family affect all the members of the household, not just children. The study reveals how parents and their children are likely to gain weight as they lose sleep.

The researchers also discovered that the number of hours a parent sleeps is linked with how much sleep children are getting, so that a parent's sleep has an effect on the likelihood that their children will be gain pounds or risk being obese.
