The Social Innovation Fund (SIF) launched by the US government stirs reluctance from its private donors. The SIF establishes the government to choose which programs merit charitable support.

The SIF makes grant rewards to serve disenfranchised individuals; however, potential donors perceive that this initiative in the name of philanthropy also face political considerations for the sake of funding decisions.
