Helping Homeless in Hillsborough with Legal Issues

Hillsborough lawyers are helping to bring the national Project HELP to the area. These lawyers volunteer with the Homeless Experience Legal Protection to spend an hour and a half at Metropolitan Ministries each Tuesday night starting July to help the local homeless people at the shelter address legal issues.

To date, the program is now in 23 cities. Federal Judge Jay Zainey launched Project HELP in New Orleans in 2004, and asserted, "Serving food at shelters is important but we as lawyers, we who have law degrees can do something more."
