According to Economist Lee Badgett, equality and fair treatment for the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) community can benefit economies from Virginia to India.
Badgett, in cooperation with the World Bank, will be analyzing the concept of homophobia as a predicament to development in emerging markets. The World Bank is also working on a new initiative that addresses social inclusion to help end extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity.
