President Barack Obama delivered remarks about the role startups and new businesses are playing in the American economy at 1776, a tech startup hub in Washington, D.C. that supports entrepreneurs confronting the most pressing challenges in education, energy, health care, and other industries.

1776 was an offshoot of the President's Startup America Initiative to embolden and bolster entrepreneurship. Innovative entrepreneurs have gotten the chance to meet with the President during his 1776 stopover.
