How Twitter Can Be Used As An Avenue In Addressing Health Issues Such As Obesity

A new study recently published in the American Journal of Public Health deemed Twitter as a way to help address certain health issues.

The study, conducted by Jenine K. Harris, PhD, assistant professor at the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis, investigated the use of the hashtag #childhoodobesity in tweets to track Twitter conversations about the issue of overweight and obese kids. Twitter is now regarded as a channel that the academic and government entities should consider taking advantage of to reach a wide variety of people to tackle this growing health concern.
