Former New York Police Department officers, John Salerno and Joe Mazzilli, help runaways reunite with their families at no charge. They formed the group Runaway Squad, which was featured in the A&E reality show.
After rescuing missing kids and teens, the squad does follow ups such as counseling to help heal families of the anxiety and trauma that goes with having children run away from home. The group also invites prospective volunteers to apply as it intently seeks to expand its rescue efforts across the United States.
