Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder announces $6 million in funding assistance for six Upper Peninsula and three northern Lower Peninsula counties that received a "state of emergency" due to infrastructure damage due to deep frost levels last winter.
The nine counties that are eligible to receive Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) to repair damaged roads and other infrastructure include Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Chippewa, Delta, Emmet, Gogebic, Luce, Mackinac and Marquette.
