The study "A Pilot Study of Qigong for Reducing Cocaine Craving Early in Recovery," David Smelson, PsyD, David Eisenberg, MD, and co-authors reveal the possibility of giving external qigong therapy (EQT) to a group of recently sober cocaine-dependent individuals. In EQT, a qigong specialist using focused intention directs and frees the individual’s bioenergy (qi) to attain stability that aids healing and symmetry in withdrawal.
