In a published paper entitled "Persistent Poverty Dynamics: Understanding Poverty Trends over 50 Years", an update is provided concerning the 2003 RUPRI analysis of persistent poverty dynamics across counties in the United States.
The paper concludes that poverty is a persistent problem in rural areas in America. Also, poverty is still concentrated in non-metropolitan (and particularly non-core, non-metro) America.
