It has been approximated that at the end of this decade, more elderly will be homeless. As the economy experiences a slump, older women who can't afford a home makes it harder for them to cope without a permanent shelter.

More homeless older women are prone to health problems, vulnerability on the streets and sleeping on uncomfortable makeshift chairs.
