The Arizona State University (ASU) researchers report that higher levels of toxic metals are found in children with autism compared with ordinary children.
In a published study from the Biological Trace Element Research journal, these high levels of toxicity harm brain development and function. James Adams, a President's Professor in the School for Engineering of Matter, Transport and Energy, one of ASU's Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering, spearheaded the research.
