Volunteer Engagement Boosts Life Longevity

Volunteer work reduces stress and ups the endorphins that boost the mood. Now, a new research finds that volunteering can not only enhance the volunteers’ self worth, but can lower their risk of mortality.

The positive effects also manifest in people who participate in organized religious activities. Other studies demonstrate that the purpose for volunteering may have an effect on whether one gets these longer life benefits.
