In a new study from The University of Texas at Austin, young girls living in economically disadvantaged families are more likely to become obese or overweight than their male counterparts in midlife.
The study documents long-lasting outcomes of economic struggles in childhood for the risk of obesity in adulthood. The study is published online in the Journal of Health and Social Behavior.
