Knoxville\'s Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness Needs Revision


The collaborative city-county Ten Year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness is in need of a revision, and more transparency.

The Ten Year Plan should consider the findings of a community group to weigh in its public opinion on homelessness. The findings are to determine whether "housing first" has been successful at transferring the homeless into long-term accommodations.

Programs that seek to meet the basic shelter needs of the community by providing temporary shelter for people who are in emergency situations, home improvement programs, housing location assistance and a variety of housing alternatives.



REDF, a San Francisco-based nonprofit, will receive a $7 Million grant from the federal Social Innovation Fund program.
